The Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development will continue to monitor and ensure timeous payment to both Ipelegeng food suppliers and workers at Palapye District Council.

This was said by local government and rural development assistant minister, Ms Talita Monnakgotla when answering a question in Parliament recently. 

“My ministry is aware of delayed payments to both Ipelegeng food suppliers and workers at Palapye District Council,” she said.

However, she said the Palapye District Council had since adequately resourced the Ipelegeng office to address the delays to payment of suppliers.

“In terms of late payment of Ipelegeng beneficiaries, the problem causing delays has been addressed such that from this month beneficiaries will be paid on time,” she added.

Palapye MP, Mr Onneetse Ramogapi had asked the minister if she was aware of late payments to Ipelegeng suppliers and workers by Palapye District Council. Mr Ramogapi also wanted to know what caused the delay and how the situation would be addressed.  ENDS
