Parliament has been informed that due to financial constraints, there was no plan to construct Botswana Police Service offices at Motokwe, Salajwe, Dutlwe and Khudumelapye.
Answering a question in Parliament on Tuesday, Minister of Defence and Security, Honourable Kagiso Mmusi said funds permitting, the villages would be considered for construction of police posts and police stations along with other locations during the twelfth National Development Plan (NDP 12).
He noted that several variables were considered when a determination to build a police station was made.
“These include population, development in the area, crime rates and proximity to the next police station, among others,” he said.
Mr Mmusi was responding to a question from Member of Parliament for Takatokwane, Mr Friction Leuwe, who had asked the minister to state when the long promised police stations would be built in Motokwe, Salajwe, Dutlwe and Khudumelapye. Ends
