The Development Manager (DM) engaged by government is working tirelessly to ensure commencement of the tarring of Letlhakeng-Kaudwane road during the current financial year.

Answering a question in Parliament on Wednesday, Minister of Transport and Public Works, Honourable Eric Molale said the project was part of a suite of projects delivered under the DM model.

“It is one of the five projects that were assigned the DM in April this year, immediately on the commencement of the current financial year,”

Hon. Molale said. On progress achieved on the project to date, he said the DM completed pre-feasibility (stage one) work in July.

“Following approval of the stage one works, the project is currently in the concept development stage or stage two,” he added.

He said at the end of stage two in December this year, the DM would submit design concepts (drawings of the road) and lock in the agreed maximum guarantee price, in readiness for commencement of construction.

Member of Parliament for Takatokwane, Mr Friction Leuwe had asked the minister to give an update on progress of the tarring of the 100km road from Letlhakeng to Kaudwane.
