Gobotswang seeks second term

Botswana Congress Party leader Mr Dumelang Saleshando has urged Sefhare/ Ramokgonami constituents to vote for BCP parliamentary candidate, Dr Kesitegile Gobotswang in the upcoming general elections.
Mr Saleshando was speaking at the launch of Dr Gobotswang and prospective council candidates for Sefhare/ Ramokgonami constituency in Sefhare on Saturday.
Mr Saleshando said Dr Gobotswang was a loyal member of BCP since its inception. He said constituents would not only be electing him as a Member of Parliament but to run the government after BCP takes over.
He said Dr Gobotswang was a composed, disciplined and a diplomatic person.
Mr Saleshando said Dr Gobotswang, who is the incumbent MP for Sefhare/Ramokgonami constituency was representing his district well in Parliament. Mr Saleshando asked Sefhare/ Ramokgonami constituents to vote for the BCP as it is organised, self- sufficient and has a clear message. He said if elected they will address the worrying unemployment problem in the country.
He said unemployment rate had increased significantly and if Batswana could vote for BDP in the upcoming elections they would continue to be poor. Mr Saleshando said the BDP had impoverished Batswana adding that corruption had increased.
BCP’s Gaborone North parliamentary candidate Mr Emmanuel Maite urged voters to vote Dr Gobotswang to Parliament because of the love he has for their constituency.
He said Dr Gobotswang has been an advocate for better development in Sefhare/ Ramokgonami constituency. Even after being elected as an MP in 2019, he continued to advocate for the constituency and addressed issues that concerned residents such as water shortage, deteriorating roads and lack of school equipment.
BCPs public relations officer Dr Mpho Pheko appealed to Batswana to change the government and vote for the BCP. She said it was the only party that was ready to govern.
For his part, Dr Gobotswang urged voters to take him back to Parliament promising that he would continue to focus on developmental issues in the constituency.
Highligting some of his achievements, Dr Gobotswang said he fought for the constituency to have access to potable water.
In addition, he said, he appealed to government for maintenance of the roads and was he said he was successful. Dr Gobotswang said he convinced government to open Limpopo river so that residents could use it for irrigation, tourism and watering livestock.
He said all that was done because he spoke about it in parliament. ENDS
