Lerala residents grateful

Residents of Lerala have expressed gratitude towards the government for the police station envisaged for their village.
The police station would enable officers to do their duties to the best of their abilities, which has in the past been impeded by lack of resources.
The councillor for Lerala West Mr Gabagopole Sebele said during the groundbreaking ceremony at the Lerala kgotla, adding that they appreciated the government for heedeing their call for a police station in the area.
The Assistant Commissioner of Police based in Palapye, Mokenti Pelotona said there had been an increase of Gender Based Violent and stock theft cases in the area and therefore the establishment of the police station would mean more officers would be assigned to Lerala and surrounding areas.
A resident, Mr Mosekaphofu Magosi said he was happy and hopeful that the police would help curb crime in their area more especially stock theft which has been on the ncrease in the area.
The police station will have a guard house, seven staff houses, information technology and radio communication, vehicles, solar powering system and will be fully furnished.
The project was envisioned in the Second Transitional National Development Plan which runs from April 2023 to March 2025. ENDS
