Masisi commends Mokaila

His Excellency President Dr Mokgweetsi Eric Keabetswe Masisi has commended Botswana’s former envoy to the United States of America, Mr Kitso Mokaila.
When receiving Mr Mokaila during a courtesy meeting on Tuesday, President Masisi applauded Mr Mokaila for his services as a diplomat highlighting that Botswana achieved a lot during his tenure.
“America is arguably one of the world’s superpower with high class institutions and it is commendable that Botswana made significant progress in nurturing its relations with America in many sectors during your tenure,”
President Masisi said. He made reference to notable progress between the two countries in the agriculture space, adding that more ground need to be covered in establishing American market for local citrus products.
He said the former Ambassador was also pivotal in organising a successful official visit of The Bahamas Prime Minister Mr Philip Davis to Botswana in March this year.
For his part, Ambassador Mokaila expressed gratitude to President Masisi for the opportunity to serve Botswana as a diplomat, citing that his role as Ambassador to the USA opened many doors of opportunity for the country.
“I am grateful for the opportunity to serve Botswana and advancing the country’s interests abroad and it was such an honour,” Mr Mokaila said.
He completed his tour of duty in June. ENDS
