Minister Serame up for Senior Inclusive Leader Award

Minister of Finance, Honourable Peggy Serame has been nominated as one of the top 11 finalists in the 12th Gender Mainstreaming Awards under the under the Senior Inclusive Leader Award category.
Winners will be announced during an event to be held in South Africa on October 31.
Speaking in an interview during the awards semifinals dinner hosted by Walk of Hope and Business Engage Botswana to announce the finalists in Gaborone on Friday, Ms Serame expressed delight for being recognised and nominated for her leadership on tackling gender mainstreaming.
She said she was happy that people recognised the job she was doing.
Business Botswana Engage lead and Walk of Hope founder and director, Ms Theriso Motsumi-Motsemeng said Ms Serame and Botswana Insurance Company chief executive officer, Mr Newton Jazire, who had also been nominated for the same category had advanced to the finals in South Africa, where regional winners would be announced.
Meanwhile, Mediland chief executive officer, Mr Scott Senwelo, BWJobs 4 Graduates chairperson, Mr Christopher Seagateng and Metropolitan Life Botswana chief operating officer, Ms Priscillah Ndadi were nominated for the Junior Inclusive Leader Award category.
Ms Ndadi also emerged the winner in the Positive Role Model Award category and will compete with other finalists from other countries in South Africa.
The guest speaker at the semifinals awards dinner, Women in Business Association president, Ms Nametso Ntsosa-Carr commended finalists for demonstrating outstanding leadership and inclusivity in gender mainstreaming.
Ms Ntsosa-Carr, who is also an entrepreneur, thanked Business Engage Botswana and Walk of Hope Botswana for the awards initiative aimed at highlighting the impact of gender mainstreaming in Africa, thereby promoting inclusivity for sustainable development.
For his part, the Gender Mainstreaming Awards judge, Mr William Surmon said he was impressed with the quality of entries that were received.
He also applauded both Business Engage Botswana and Walk of Hope Botswana for having collaborated to successfully bring the Gender Mainstreaming Awards semifinals to Botswana, for the first time.
Assistant Minister for State President Honourable Boitumelo Gofhamodimo, who attended the event, awarded finalists certificates of recognition for reaching the awards semifinals. Ends
