Moshupa District unveils new logo

05 Aug 2024

Branding is important because it communicates ownership, quality and values,  Moshupa District Council chairperson, Mr Sonny Phiri has said.

Speaking during the launch of Moshupa District Council (MDC) logo that included the graduation ceremony for Ipelegeng Skills Development Component (ISDC), Mr Phiri pointed out the development of the logo involved consultations with community and other stakeholders.

The logo would likely be one of the people’s first interaction with the district council and would influence the customers’ first impression, Mr Phiri said.

He urged the community to familiarise themselves with the logo because it would be imprinted on the council’s property, websites and most importantly in the minds of clients.

A total of 22 ISDC graduates were awarded certificates in carpentry, electrical, tiling, painting, plumbing, bricklaying on the same day.

Ipelegeng regional coordinator, Mr Soomon Maniki applauded the graduates, saying their hard work and determination had led them to that moment.

He explained that the ISDC was aimed at equipping the programme beneficiaries with artisan skills and making them ready for better paying job opportunities.

Mr Maniki urged the graduates to utilise their skills and encouraged them to start their own projects as well as to form partnerships.

One of the graduates, Mr Kenalekgotla Kgosinaga applauded government and coordinators for the programme, which he said benefitted them.

He pointed out that hard work and cooperation helped them to complete the programme, adding that they were already working on three projects for MDC.

“We are planning to partner and make our own construction company so that we can absorb our brothers and sisters in the village,” he said.  Ends
