Church plays an important role in grooming future leaders hence children should be encouraged to attend it so that they can become better individuals. “It is through setups like these that children are taught basic norms and values of their culture and community,” said Francistown Mayor, Mr Godisang Radisigo when giving a keynote address during St John’s Gospel Church fundraising event in Francistown on Saturday. He said youth engaged in bad things because of the lifestyle they led hence he advised parents to always keep an eye on them. Mr Radisigo implored youth to choose their friends carefully and take control of their lives, and encouraged them to participate in health activities to ward off non-communicable diseases which claimed many lives. He said music healed the soul and joining live bands could do them some good. St John’s Gospel Church Archbishop Ephraim Bulayani said the event was meant to raise funds that would be used to expand the structure of the church, help the less privileged and young people. Ends
