President Dr Mokgweetsi Masisi, Vice President, Mr Slumber Tsogwane and members of diplomatic corps on Monday, July 15 graced the 16th annual National Arts Festival hosted by the Ministry of Youth Gender, Sport and Culture.

In his address, President Masisi applauded the finalists for their exceptional performances, showcasing creativity and dedication to promoting and preserving culture.

He assured them that government would continue to support their artistic endeavours, to enable them to succeed beyond the borders.

Dr Masisi implored all to adopt a growth mind-set towards the arts. He said it was crucial to recognise the arts not just for leisure and cultural preservation but also as vital sources of income and employment, particularly for the youth, as the economy is diversified. This year’s event was held under the theme: The Creative Economy: Botswana’s Economic Future Redefined. ENDS
