Masisi consoles Andries family

President Dr Mokgweetsi Masisi visited the Andries family homestead in Gabane, Sunday to commiserate with the family following the death of Ms Sego Andries. The late Ms Andries(97) is mother to President Masisi's secretary Ms Joyce Madisakwane. A family representative Mr Douglas Bogope said the deceased succumbed to a long illness on July 9 at the Julia Molefhe clinic in Block 9 after being taken ill. During his visit, Dr Masisi said, Ms Andries was a devoted Christian who lived by the word of God. He said when the final chapter of her life arrived, it was worth reflecting the impact she had beyond her home. He said he was informed of her health condition over the past few years but it suddenly deteriorated leading to her passing. President Masisi said Ms Andries raised great children and Gabane was fond of her gratitude. Dr Masisi said him visiting the Andries family was born out of Batswana’s long standing culture of sticking together in times of grief. President Masisi took time to address mourners and described his colleague Ms Madisakwane as a jovial and hardworking individual. He said he had worked with Ms Madisakwane over the years and she delivered on her mandate with great gusto. For his part a family member Mr Modise Poonyane said the family was grateful of Dr Masisi's visit in times of grief. He said Minister Kagiso Mmusi who is also area MP had been supportive during the bereavement period. Ms Andries is survived by eight children, five men and three women.
