The Botswana Cycling Association (BCA) and the Motor Vehicle Accident (MVA) Fund will hold the Safe Mobility Challenge at Game City on Saturday. 

The challenge will include cycling activities in the 5km, 30km and 50km distances while running and walking will be done in 5km, 10km and 21km.

Through the challenge, BCA and MVA Fund hopes to give road users chance to cycle, run and walk for the safety of vulnerable road users such as pedestrians, cyclists, the elderly and young children.

It is also meant to advocate for the provision of adequate infrastructure for pedestrians and cyclists to use the road in a safe manner, which is also among the objectives of the partnership agreement signed recently by both parties.

The partnership agreement speaks of providing opportunities for education and participation of cyclists in road safety awareness initiatives and activities.

The safe mobility challenge started in 2023 and this year’s will be held under the theme; Be Safe, Be Seen, Your Life Matters.
