Botswana senior national football team, Zebras will face Bafana Bafana of South Africa in a HOLLYWOODBETS COSAFA Cup 2024 clash at the Wolfson Stadium, Gqeberha, South Africa tomorrow.
The Zebras played to a goalless draw against eSwatini in their opening game on Wednesday, while Bafana Bafana played to one-all draw against Mozambique. This therefore means Group A is anyone’s for the taking and for the Zebras to keep their hopes of continuing with the tournament, they will have win their tomorrow encounter.
Coach Didier Gomes Da Rosa has travelled with a youthful squad who are talented and hungry for success and it is upon them to impress and engrave their names in the hearts of Batswana.
Winning against Bafana Bafana is always sweet victory for Batswana and if the youngsters’ performance on Wednesday is anything to go by, then Bafana Bafana are in for a rude awakening.
The Zebras have a good goalkeeper in Victor James, who can frustrate the opponents at any given time and the onus will be on the striking department to make runs, put pressure on the opponents and score.
Da Rosa said it was critical that the Zebras played with confidence against Bafana Bafana as they had good players.
He said they had to win the game at all costs if they wanted to go far in the tournament.
Against eSwatini, he said though they started the game well and created two scoring opportunities, they had a tough game.
He said eSwatini dominated the last 20 minutes of the first half with an ‘efficient system’ adding that it was not easy to control them hence he had to change the tactical system in the second half. ends
