CHESS CHAMPIONSHIP SATURDAY Botswana Chess Federation (BCF) in partnership with Roscoe Bonna Valuers will on June 29 host the Roscoe Bonna Blitz Chess Championship at University of Botswana. The one-day tournament’s objective is to resuscitate BCF relationship with Roscoe Bonna. SOFTBALL TEAMS FIGHT FOR EXTRAVAGANZA SLOTS Botswana Softball Association (BSA) will over the weekend conduct the elimination stage of the annual Selebi Phikwe Softball Extravaganza. The tournament finals will be held in Selebi Phikwe from July 13 to16. In the southern region, the elimination stage will be held at the National Diamond softball grounds in Gaborone, where nine teams; Bears, BDF XI, Dinare, Panthers, Police XI, Titans, UB Giants, Vikings and Wells both men and women teams will fight for the four slots. As for the northern region, only four ladies’ teams, Rail Giants, Carats, Scramblers and Ghetto Yankers have registered for the elimination stage to be held at Clifton College and Mater Spei College grounds in Francistown. Only three teams will go through to the finals from the northern region as the fourth spot has been reserved for the host, Comets. Also, in the northern region, men teams; Rail Giants, Carats, Ghetto Yankees, Scramblers, Raptures, Sua Raiders, Rebels and Diphohu will also battle it out for the three slots to join Comets at the finals. The finals of the Selebi Phikwe Extravaganza will feature eight men and eight women softball teams respectively. DARTS ASSOCIATION HOSTS WOMEN TOURNAMENT The Botswana Darts Association (BODA) will host the Women’s Commission Tournament in Francistown over the weekend. The tournament will feature women’s national teams and league teams. It will also be used to raise funds for the national teams, as they will represent the country in eSwatini in August. BOTSWANA TEAM IN REUNION ISLAND FOR RUN BALL 3X3 TOURNAMENT Botswana national basketball team is in the Reunion Island to participate in the eighth edition of the Run Ball 3x3 tournament organised by the regional league of the Reunion Island from June 29 to 30. The #Ball 3x3 basketball tournament will feature top-tier teams from France, Madagascar, Mauritius and other African nations in both men and women teams. The Botswana men’s team is made up of Botsile Ramabu, Karabo Rabothaako, Kesaobaka Ndawanyana and Emmanuel Ramoshebi, while the women’s team comprises Gaone Gabobofane, Katlego Jankie, Boingotlo Podi and Natasha Moyo. BONA PREPARES FOR NETBALL FINALS Botswana Netball Association (BONA) is preparing for the Lucara Netball league finals slated for Orapa from July 4 to 8. The finals will feature eight women and men netball teams from the northern and southern regions respectively. BOPA
