Art of Living Botswana foundation together with Lentsweletau-Mmopane Member of Parliament Ms Nnaniki Makwinja on Saturday donated 120 blankets, 150 sanitary pads and fruits to Sojwe community.
The minister appreciated the foundation for donating blankets, adding that such would go along in protecting beneficiaries against the cold weather.
She implored the community to use their culture to attract tourism activities to their village, and reap economic benefits that may bring changes in their lives.
She said because government could not do it alone, they were appreciative of the support by different private organisations that assist Batswana with services that could have ordinarily been offered by government.
Art of Living Botswana representative, Ms Lilian Mosimaneotsile said their foundation was rooted in instilling unto people the never give up attitude no matter life challenges.
She said the foundation which operated in 180 countries was founded in 1981 and it encouraged the well-being of the mind.
Further, she said every year, as a way of building the community, they came up with ways of giving back, adding that Sojwe village was chosen to receive blankets and sanitary pads.
Kgosi Tlhabologang Hube of Sojwe commended the organisation for the much needed gifts and thanked the MP for being responsive to people’s needs. He said not all would receive blankets or gifts as few people were chosen looking at the severity of individual needs. He pledged to continue to seeking more to assist the community. ENDS
