Kubung road project will be constructed during the 2024/2025 financial year.

Minister of Transport and Public Works, Mr Eric Molale assured residents of Thamaga and Kubung during consultations on Friday.

He said following the assessment tour on all roads across the country last year, a budget proposal followed noting that the approval for the construction of some roads was made.

Mr Molale said the 22 kilometre stretch of the road project starts from Kubung to Thamaga.

He said other roads to be constructed include Rasesa-Diphuduhudu, Letlhakeng-Kaudwane, Otse-Dibete, Mohembo-Gudigwa and Mmathethe-Bray-Werda.

The Minister said a contractor had not yet been chosen as the tender has to be advertised to the public first.

He said the selected contractor would sign the contract at either Kubung Kgotla or Thamaga Kgotla and also go through proper full guidelines.

Mr Molale further said the contractor was expected to hire personnel from Thamaga and Kubung for employment creation

Member of Parliament for Thamaga/Kumakwane Mr Palelo Motaosane urged residents of the concerned villages for patience while all the construction processes were being carried out. ENDS
