Sankoyo humble Tsabotlhe

13 May 2024

Sankoyo Bush Bucks claimed a hard fought 3-2 win over Tsabotlhe in a thrilling First Division North league encounter in Maun over the weekend.

The game started on a high pace from the onset as both teams fought to claim three points to improve their positions in the log standings.  Both teams are left with one encounter each to wrap up the 2023/24 season.

The teams gave the supporters a marvellous match, but Sankoyo registered their first goal in the 30th minute and their rivals equalised just before half time.

After the recess, Tsabotlhe took control of the game and nearly gave their opponents a shock as they continued creating perfect chances but Sankoyo goal keeper made several great saves to deny them the lead.

However, after a tight 15 minutes, Tsabotlhe took the lead by scoring the second goal, which forced Ngurungu boys coach to bring in veteran striker, Gaongalelwe ‘Ngale’ Dipateletso in the 72th minute.

Ngale ignited a spark amongst his teammates as they started to pile pressure on their opponents until they were rewarded in the 75th minute when he clipped in a cross from the right and easily swayed the ball into the net.

Ngale’s combination with the goal scoring maestro, Nlisa Dema, worked wonders as he (Dema) stretched the Ngurungu lead with a well take goal in the dying minutes of the game.

In an interview, Sankoyo coach, Papani Likha said the game was tough and he gave credit to his boys for executing their plan as expected.

Tsabotlhe head coach, Joseph Banyatsi attributed their loss to the players’ bad attitude in the pitch. ENDS
