Township Rollers wallop VTM 4-0 

Township Rollers redeemed themselves through a 4-0 victory against VTM FC at the VTM Arena on Wednesday. Godfrey Tauyatswala’s hattrick gave Rollers a head start as they went riot giving VTM defence a nightmare with his tactics and techniques that put his team at an advantage.

 Rollers’ first goal came in the 34th minute when Segolame Boy crossed the ball which VTM goalkeeper, Bokamoso Moeba failed to clear and found Tauyatswala who easily pushed the ball across the goal line.

Even though the beginning of the first half saw VTM controlling the game and creating more chances than Rollers, nothing of their opportunities bore fruits. Rollers began to find their momentum and created chances that saw them getting a goal before recess.

The beginning of the second half saw Rollers taking control of the game and Tauyatswala scored again in the 52nd and 58th minute when he caught VTM defence napping.

When VTM thought all is said and done, Mogakolodi Ngele scored from a free kick just outside the 18th area in the 87th minute to make it four goals for Popa. Rollers coach, Innocent Morapedi said the win meant a lot to the players and the club at large especially after coming from a string of losses when it has not been easy to motivate players. He said he believed that the win would their morale and look forward to winning the remaining games.

Coach Morapedi said in some of the losses they had encountered, players were not taking their chances and has always encouraged them to take every chance they get. He said he was happy that they managed to take their chances which resulted in 4 goals which meant a lot to the players.

He also said he was happy for Tauyatswala to have scored three goals by taking his chances. VTM head coach Reuben Chikoti said it was not an easy game and believe that his players gave Rollers a lot of respect thereby committing defensive errors that gave them easy goals.

Coach Chikoti said that they should have buried Rollers in the first half but failed to come to the party. He said after the first goal, his players began panicking and that allowed Rollers to take advantage of the situation. ENDS
