Botswana Athletics Association will host a meet in Francistown on Sunday, which is likely to determine the composition of the relay team members. The BAA provisional list currently has 10 women and 10 men who are expected to represent Botswana in three teams of 4x400m men’s relay which is currently ranked seventh in the world, 4x400m mixed relay ranked 13th, and women’s 4x400m relay which is ranked 20th.

However, only 18 athletes are needed and this means that two athletes, one from the women’s team and the men’s teams will be dropped. As such, all the athletes in the provisional team should better their times to cement their place in the teams.

On the top of the list is Letsile Tebogo with a Season Best time of 44.29 followed by Bayapo Ndori with 45.16, Collen Kebinasthipi 45.20, Leungo Scotch 45.39, Zibane Ngozi 45.70, Anthony Pesela 45.92, Boitumelo Masilo 45.81, Tumo van Wyk 45.79, Omphile Seribe 46.11 and Isaac Makwala with 46.12.

The women’s team is made up of Lydia Jele who has a Season Best time of 52.29, Obakeng Kamberuka 52.60, Galefele Moroko 53.31, Tlhomphang Basele 53.59, Christine Botlogetswe 53.96, Kennekae Batisani 54.48, Motlatsi Rante 54.74, Refilwe Morangi 55.17, Nancy Budzani 55.17, and Golekanye Chikani 53.77.
