Botswana 4x 400 mixed relay in the finals

Botswana 4x 400 mixed relay will be in the finals this evening at the ongoing African Games held in Accra, Ghana.
The quartet made up of Leungo Scotch, Lydia Jele, Bayapo Ndori yesterday won their heat with a National Record time of 3:14.36.
Although Kenya had fielded experienced athletes in the likes of Mary Mora, they finished second behind Botswana with 3:18.42.
For the finals, the team said their mission is to qualify for the World Relays, where they will be in a good position to hit the Olympic qualifying mark.
Another athlete who will be in action is Tsaone Sebele as she will be lining up in the 100 metres finals after she finished second in her heat with a time of 11.65.
Oratile Nowe will also be in the 800 metres finals after finishing on position two with 2:04.35, while Tumo Nkape will compete in the 800 metres men semi-final. He booked a spot after finishing in position two running a time of 1.47.19
In the 400 metres event two athletes; Boitumelo Masilo and Ernest Kumevu qualified for the semis after they both finished in second place in their heats, with a time of of 46.46 and 46.41 respectively. They will compete in the semi-finals
Omphile Seribe claimed a non-automatic qualification (fastest loser) after finishing fourth with a time of 46.45.end
