Gaborone United and BDF XI played a goalless draw on Saturday although both teams missed numerals scoring opportunities.
Based on the goal scoring chances that were created for the strikers of both teams, a draw of goals would have been a fair result.
The two premier league teams also agreed that they lost two valuable points in the encounter considering the opportunities created and wasted.
In a post-match interview, BDF gaffer, Nelson Setshwane said his team was still formidable despite losing the two valuable points, adding that they were gradually improving their performance and would eventually perform as per expectations.
Setshwane said it was unfortunate that his team failed to convert the many scoring chances they created, but was optimistic that his team was bound to get maximum points in the coming fixtures. Setshwane said they were focused on combining experienced players with young and upcoming players so that they could learn from their seniors and continue the legacy of being an elite premier league outfit.
GU coach, Pontsho Moloi said his team did not offer much in the first half as they only had one shot at goal.
He said they performed better after recess and the tweaking of the teams formation, adding that they dominated the second half and created more scoring opportunities, but unfortunately squandered the chances created even when left with only the goalkeeper to beat.
Moloi emphasised that they played all their matches with the goal to win and that the goalless draw against BDF XI was two points lost. Ends
