01 Feb 2024

This coming weekend, signals the start of First Division South League second round where some teams will be looking to consolidate their positions on the log while others will be fighting tooth and nail in a bid to try and avoid the dreaded relegation axe.

The high flying Jwaneng Young stars aka Dinaletsana, which is perched comfortably at the top with 25 points plays hosts to City Polar who are in position six with 15 points on Saturday.

Dinaletsana, which narrowly defeated Prisons XI in their last fixture of the first round will pull all the stops to either maintain their six points gap from Uniao Flamengo Santos or widen it to ensure that come the end of the season, they gain automatic promotion.

Santos will pay a visit to Prisons XI at SSG Ground.

Santos has shown some signs of struggling as they are hovering just around the relegation zone on position 10 with 10 points.

Meanwhile, Extension Gunners aka Peleng giants, which is continuously blowing hot and cold, will be up against third-placed Uri Black Forest aka Magoleng at Lobatse Council Stadium.

Gunners seem to be determined to put a good fight for either automatic promotion or a spot in the play-offs come the end of the season.

With a game in hand, Forest stands a good chance to dislodge Flamengo Santos on the second spot as they are only separated by two points.

Notwane, which is on position nine will take on UB Hawks at SSG Ground.

Some football pundits are of the view that it will take another season for one of Gunners, Notwane and Mochudi Centre Chiefs to bounce back to the premier league. ENDS
