Systems Mazottie duel Saturday
01 Feb 2024
The Women’s Football League Division One continues at Lekidi Ground this weekend.
One of the interesting clashes will pit Security Systems against Mazottie FC at Lekidi West on Saturday morning.
Having played two games so far, Systems have won one game and lost their league opener against Gaborone United.
Systems aka Alarm Girls might come with guns blazing on Mazottie. The two teams are separated by goal difference, hence Systems occupy position four with three points, while Mazottie are at position five.
The Alarm Girls coach, Omphile Madala said his charges were weary of their opponents, adding that after they (Mazottie) lost 4-0 to Double Action they would want to redeem their pride, hence they would approach the game with a different tactic.
Madala said they know Mazottie’s style of play, adding that they were fast on the ball and always launch attacks in the opening minutes of the game.
“However, all my players are available for selection, expect Thuto Sello, who is currently nursing a knee injury,” he said.
On the other hand, Mazottie, who are well known for their resilience, might cause an upset given that they do not give respect to the so-called ‘big teams’.
The team’s coach, Sfiso Kamusu said they had been preparing very well for the clash, adding that they had tried to rectify mistakes committed in their previous games.
“We have a problem in our goalkeeping department and finishing, so we have been polishing up a lot of things,” he said. In other games, Gaborone United will host Big Sisters at Lekidi West in the afternoon.
On Sunday morning, Prisons host UB Kicks, while Double Action play FC Ambassador. ENDS
