One of Botswana’s astute football administrators and analyst, Molatlhegi ‘Octopus’ Mangole is no more Mangole died on Tuesday at Princess Marina Hospital after spending almost a month at the hospital. His brother, Moshe Mangole said Mangole had not been well for some time.

He said they took him to Marina on Christmas eve after his condition worsened.

He said the family was busy with funeral arrangements and that they were planning to bury him in Mmopane on Sunday.

Octopus was born on August 22, 1968 in Mochudi and was one of the fearless football analysts with no topic out of bound.

Football fanatics admired his knowledge of the game and for interpreting and understanding the laws of the game as well as the Botswana Football Association constitution and play rules and regulations.

Before becoming a RB2 resident analyst, Mangole was Mogoditshane Fighters spokesperson before assuming the same position with Township Rollers. ENDS
