 Botswana Premier League log leaders, Township Rollers settled for a point after playing to a goalless draw against Nico United at Sam Sono Stadium in Selebi Phikwe on Saturday.

Rollers alias Mapalestina created a number of scoring opportunities in the first half, which they failed to convert as Nico United goalkeeper, Gaolatlhe Tshupegetso was equal to the task.

The 16th placed Nico’s defence of Bapaletswe Simon and Botshelo Motsheja gave Rollers a torrid time, frustrating their efforts, hence the match ended in a goalless draw.

In a post match interview, Rollers’ interim coach Innocent Morapedi said his charges played well despite failing to score a goal.

“Even though Nico United is in the 16th position, we did not take it for granted because such teams are likely to give us fierce competition.”

He said Rollers played well, creating many shots on target but failed to convert a goal.

He said he had noted mistakes made by the players, which would be rectified in their next game.

Majombolo’s head coach, Monametsi Kelebale gave his boys a pat on the back for displaying a good play, which earned them a point

He said the result would boost his players’ morale and motivate them to work harder to pull away from the relegation red zone.

Kelebale explained that playing against a strong and experienced team like Rollers was not easy for his boys.

However, he said he was glad they managed to contain rollers throughout the game.

Kelebale also thanked Nico United’s supporters for always rallying behind the team and urged them and other stakeholders to come on board to help the team improve its performance. ENDS
