 Mascom Live sessions have always been a reunion of some sort for the middle class music revellers.

The first session of 2023 since the last in 2021 was no different, as music lovers on November 24 thronged Botswana Craft for the spectacular music show featuring Botswana’s Han C, Khoi San and South Africa’s Mafikizolo.

The Botswana Craft courtyard  was packed with almost no room for manoeuvre or even perform usual group dances. 

And many wondered if it was the thirst for the event or the organisers of the event went overboard with numbers.

That however, did not stop revellers from enjoying their favourite songs especially from the local acts. Khoi San opened the show with usual impressive performance.

 The duo of Oratile Koa and Thabang Rasefako alongside their band took the crowd on a riveting journey of instruments and vocals with songs such as Sananapo, Ntlo Se Thubege and Danko remix among others.

The duo showcased their prowess when they invited on stage another force in the showbiz, Dr Vom whose dikhwaere songs and dance always has revelers on their feet dancing. 

He performed his most loved song Tsaya Thobane, which had proved to be favourite among the young and old.

Award winning Han C also brought excitement to the crowd impressing with his unique musical ability that has won him fans not only at home but across borders. 

The Mahalapye-born hit maker of songs such as Tadi Mothwana, Sedi Laka, Sebinki, Rejection, Itsatsaula and many more set the stage on fire with his presence as him and his dancers delivered energetic performance.

South Africa’s duo Mafikizolo finished last and after the  thrilling performance of the local artistes,  Nhlanhla Mafu and Theo Kgosinkwe had to up their game to keep the momentum.

The duo evoked a sense of nostalgia performing their popular classics such as Emlanjeni, Ndi Hamba Nawe, Love Potion and others. 

Like the patrons, Mafikizolo seemed to have missed the Mascom Live Sessions, or perhaps they missed their legion of fans as they gave the long set. ENDS
