BTTA elects new committee

Botswana Table Tennis Association (BTTA) has elected a new committee during their annual general meeting held on Tuesday.

Kudzanani Motswagole was unopposed for the position of president. The vice president, administration, post was contested by Zacharia Seabo and Reatile Morapedi and the latter emerged victorious while the vice president, technical position, went to Kabo Mosarwe after beating Boykie Selerio.

Tshegofatso Malepa triumphed in the contest for the public relations post after she beat Matlhogonolo Tirelo.

The position of development coordinator was uncontested with Godirilweone Bagwasi taking the post while Tlamelo Ntebele also ran solo for the additional member position.

Giving remarks after the election, Motswagole emphasised that serving in the committee was voluntary and that required efficiency and effectiveness. He also urged them to work as a team and to deliver a professional code to members.

He noted that their association was on tier two of the Botswana National Sport Commission (BNSC) and that they aimed to go to tier one. “We need committee members to dedicate their time diligently, and if they are unable to, we humbly request they resign and make way for those that are ready and willing to take the baton,” he said.

Meanwhile, five new members of the association were welcomed. These being BMC Sports Club, Maun Sports Club, Boro, Qualipro Holdings and Newton. ENDS
