BONA Branch get P300 000 each

Lucara Diamond Mining Company has donated P300 000 each to Botswana Netball Association (BONA) and Ross Branch, a motorcycle racer on Tuesday.
The company’s managing director, Naseem Lahri said the aim was to support talent and build Botswana.
“We believe that no man is an island and that is why we partner with other organizations to uncover the gems that we have within our country,” she said.
Ms Lahri further said that the company had a community investment programme committed to the developing of a multi-purpose sports complex in Letlhakane equipped with a running track, tennis courts and basketball courts amounting to about P35 million.
She said Lucara does not only support sport through this commitment to corporate social responsibility but are also contributing to the overall wellbeing of the community BONA president, Malebo Raditladi-Nkgakile expressed her gratitude for Lucara’s generous contribution, emphasising the positive impact it will have on the sport and its participants.
“This money has come at the right time when we have been given an opportunity to host the Africa Netball games and at such, we are looking for sponsorships to pay for the sports arena at the University of Botswana.
Therefore, this donation will be of much help in that regard,” she said. Motorcycle racer, Ross Branch also expressed his gratitude to Lucara for the generous gesture as the significant contribution.
He said this will undoubtedly leave a lasting impact on the sports community in Botswana, fostering growth, talent and development. Ends
