Morupule Wanderers and Holy Ghost shared the spoils in a Botswana Premier League encounter played at the VTM Arena at Gamononyane.

The game ended 1-1. While both teams played head to head, the strikers on both sides failed to complete clear-cut chances that could have seen either of the teams taking the lead.

It was Holy Ghost who opened the scoring sheet on the seventh minute through Abang Molobe, who shoved the ball in as Wanderers defenders failed to clear their lines.

Morupule Wanderers came back well organized in the second half and their prayers were answered in the 47th minute when Dominic Chungwa scored the equalizer.

Holy Ghost head coach, Reuben Chikoti, said this was not an easy game as Wanderers was a great team but at least they took a point home.

He lamented several goal scoring opportunities missed, which could have seen them win the game but then also gave away an easy goal to their opponent to equalize.

Chikoti said they played well but they will ultimately begin to give better results as the league has just begun and asked the supporters  not to lose heart as they will bounce back.

Commenting on the goal scorer, Molobe, the coach said the striker had a great potential and unlike most of last season, he is now given more play time to prove himself “and so far he is doing very well and more is expected from him going forward.”

Chikoti said their next game is against Masitaoka, which is a tough opponent to play against but they will surely prepare for the game as they also have a young team, which can match their opponents.

Wanderers head coach, Rahman Gumbo, said he was not happy with the display by his players as they gave away an easy goal that could have been cleared.

He said nevertheless, they are great players who can deliver but this time around, they did not take full responsibility as expected.

Gumbo said they have to go back to the drawing board and prepare to face Jwaneng Galaxy and believes that his boys will come to the party. Ends
