Orapa United scored a last minute goal to beat Matebele FC 2-1 in a hard fought Botswana Premier League encounter played at Dinaledi Football Academy at Matebeleng on November 1.
The newly promoted outfit gave the experienced Orapa United a hard time and they equalised through Bonno Mosea who came in as a substitute in the second half after the Ostriches took the lead in the first half.
Orapa United’s Kelvin Bingala, who scored the first goal, proved to be a thorn on the side of Matebele as he gave them a hard time with his skill and agility.
He scored the winner in the dying minutes after Matebele defenders failed to clear the ball.
Orapa United coach, Tawurayi Mangwiro said although they had a slow start to the season, they were coming up good and that the three points meant a lot to them and their plans.
He said they played a good team that gave them a hard time. He said Matebele came back strong in the second half and that his boys were sluggish.
Matebele coach, Nicholas Jacobs said it was a tough game and that his players had to work overtime to close the gaps.
He said they had a slow start but managed to come back strong in the second half.
He described the late goal they conceded as ‘hard to take’ and that it caught them off guard.
However, he praised his players who had been on a good run and said they had to go back to the drawing board and prepare for the Sunday game against Gaborone United.
He added that their fixtures were not favourable as they also had to prepare to face Sua Flamingos and Township Rollers respectively. ENDS
