In an effort to appreciate and honour Letsile Tebogo’s for his

scintillating performances on the track, Wilderness Safari Company decided to treat the 100m sprinter, to a four-day safari adventure in the Okavango Delta.

Tebogo, accompanied by his coach, Kebonyemodisa ‘Dose’ Mosimanyane, left on Monday and are expected to spend four nights in two of the company’s luxury lodges in the delta to have a feeling of the safari.

In an interview, project manager at Wilderness Company, Attorney Vasco said the company decided to treat the duo to a safari experience to honour and appreciate their remarkable achievements.

He said the duo had a fruitful season and deserved to be honoured.

“As the company, we found it fit to host the duo to some of our camps so that they marvel at the beauty of the wildlife and the prestigious delta at a close range as a way of saying well done for making the nation proud,” he added.

Vasco noted that they would spend two days at Dumatau Camp, a luxury tented-camp situated close to the source of the Savute channel in the private Linyanti concession.

The facility offers exceptional encounters with herds of majestic animals.

Another luxury camp they will explore is the Mombo camp, one of the finest wildlife destinations in Africa.

The camp is situated in the prime position where the main Okavango River splits into its primary channels.

Vasco said the duo had never been to the delta before and they believed that was the perfect chance for them to relax and explore astonishing landscapes in the pristine wilderness areas of the delta.

He was hopeful that the duo would enjoy the trip and have an amazing, peaceful stay and lasting memories.

Meanwhile, Tebogo’s journey in athletics is a testimony of passion, dedication and hard work as he made history by winning silver and bronze medals in 100m and 200m respectively at the World Athletics Championships, which were held in Budapest, Hungary in August.

He also became the youngest 200m African Champion in 2022 and he was among the nominees for the World Athletics Rising Star year award.
