Utlwanang Matibini was crowned the first ever Miss Game City at a spectacular finale held at the malls roof top on Friday night.

The pageant was in honour of the malls 21st anniversary and the Mowana beauty was crowned the fairest of them all and walked away with P35 000 and a cellular.

The 28-year-old beauty nailed her definition of true beauty and how to promote it. The woman empowerment activist said beauty was more than appearances, and that it meant compassion, resonated well with others and the ability to shape the world for the better.

She won the audience over with her graceful walking and poise, as she explained how beauty brought change in society.

“Beauty is found in women because they are versatile," she said, adding that women also bring change in society.

Lesego Makalang, who was mesmerised by the beauty queen, said she was her favourite. She said here presence was also felt when she introduced herself as she described herself as a versatile woman from the land of diamonds and all precious stones. “I am a renegade, my dreams are as sure as the sun that glistens on the African heat, I am a champion, a winner who basks in the glory of those that conquered before my time,” she said

The first runner-up spot was scooped by Kefilwe Gabonakemo who walked away with P23 000 and Obakeng Garefane was the second-runner to pocket P21 000.

Game City manager, Osadi Nthaga thanked everyone for gracing the occasion. She said Game City has stood as a symbol of quality and outstanding retail experience for over two decades. She added that the beauty pageant was part of appreciating Batswana for their continued support.

Miss Game City, she said, would be their ambassador and would promote the mall as well as educating consumers about the mall's products and services. She would also be expected to create engaging content.

Thirty aspiring beauty queen from diverse backgrounds including married women and mothers, people with disability competed for the crown. ENDS
