Phakalane-based Archein Hardware Group has once again come on board as the headline sponsors of this year’s independence softball tournament.

Handing over a P200 000 cheque to the president of the Botswana Softball Association (BSA), Archein Hardware Group Managing Director, Nikunj Mehta said they were thrilled to sponsor the tournament for the second time.

Mehta said it was important that they gave back to the society.  

“Whether it is by sponsoring a sports event or community event, as a company I feel that I have to give something back, whatever the situation is in the economy,” Mehta said, adding that the sponsorship would also compliment his company’s visibility.

Mehta said they were driven by giving back to the community, and they were starting with sports, as it was also a big opportunity to market themselves.

BSA president, Katlholo Mosimanegape, said it was the second time they received financial support from Archein Hardware.

“Last year, Archein sponsored us to the tune of P250 000. The money was broken down into prize monies for clubs, balls, refreshments for officials, incentives and trophies as well as medals.

This is what Archein Hardware is also committing to this year,” Mosimanegape said.ENDS
