CAF inspectors tour facilities

A team of three Confederation of African Football inspectors was in the country to assess some of the facilities that will be used should the country win the 2027 AFCON bid. Botswana in its aspirations to host games is competing with Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania who are in joint bid, Nigeria and Benin, Algeria and Senegal who are also bidding jointly to host the 2027 AFCON. Botswana Africa Cup of Nation Bid Committee chairperson, Ashford Mamelodi said Botswana’s ability to host major international events placed the country in a better stead to win the bid. The verdict on who will host the Africa showpiece will be announced in September.
