Artiste worship night September

Gospel artists from various church denominations will congregate at Molapo showcase on September 2 for a worship night with the aim to raise funds towards a worthy cause.

Speaking during a press briefing in Gaborone on Tuesday, event organizer Mpeleki July of the Mpeleki July Foundation said through the event brought by the city of Gospel the aim was to spread a message of hope and extend a helping hand to students in need.

“I was moved by most students across the country who often walk to school and those who lack daily essentials such as sanitary pads and toiletries, that is why I started the foundation,” she said.

July, a teacher by profession at Motswedi Junior Secondary School said she believed that their combined passion and talent for gospel music would be effective in creating the necessary awareness and support.

One of the artists billed to perform Sesame Khofi said they were playing their part to show their love for God also with hope to spread the message of God through music adding, “we will also use the platform to minister to everyone present.”

Botswana Music Union president Fresh Lesokwane praised July Foundation for the initiative that allows artists to showcase their talents.

He urged the public to support the event. “This collective effort will help create a successful concert that will ultimately benefit the students in need,” he said.

Some of the artists that will perform include Ezra Neethings, Ditsala Morenemg gospel choir, Zion House of praise, Innocent Zibotjwa and Johnson Pheto.

Tickets can be accessed at Spar stores, webticket Riverwalk kiosk for P200 general, P500 golden circle and P1 200 VIP ticket. ENDS
