Dimension Data Route73 MTB Challenge back

The sixth edition of Dimension Data Route73 Mountain Bike (MTB) Challenge returns this August, courtesy of Cycle4Life Cycling club.

This year’s event will treat riders to partially manicured single tracks, original jeep tracks with undisturbed nature and horizontal and vertical hills on the gruesome MTB route in the country.

Cycle4Life Cycling Club Route73 Race coordinator, Mmuso Phonchi, said they were also planning to have one or two surprises on the route for the cyclists.

The annual race affords cyclists an opportunity to test their aptness given the challenge’s technicalities.

Dimension Data general manager, Business Services, Dineo Letshwiti,  said Dimension Data will on board as the headline sponsor.

“We will unveil more details regarding sponsorship on June 8, but I can confirm that Dimension Data Botswana is fully behind this exciting MTB challenge,” Letshwiti noted.

Dimension Data Route 73 MTB Challenge attracts cyclists from the SADC region, both professional and semi-pro as well as amateurs.

The 2022 edition was won by South Africa’s Thokozani Mahlangu, with Mark van Zyl and Gontse Lethokwe on second and third positions respectively.  ENDS
