Coach Kebonyemodisa ‘Dose’ Mosimanyane is happy with his charges’ performance at the Rabat Diamond League.
Bayapo Ndori finished the 400m race on position five with 45.62 in his debut on Sunday.
The 100m runner, Letsile Tebogo finished fourth with a season best time of 10.09.
Mosimanyane said it was a good experience for the athletes, adding that Ndori was going to compete in another Diamond League.
He said since Ndori had already qualified for the World Championships, they had to push back the programme to align its peak with the World Championships scheduled for August.
“I think we are going well, and hopeful we will get that peak at the right time,” he said.
He said Tebogo did well considering that the line-up was stacked with experienced athletes.
He, however, said Tebogo could have clocked a better time had he started well from the blocks.
“Besides that, I think he ran very well. I know that some people are of the view that he’s not a good starter, but there are few races that I watched him starting better than Sunday,” the coach said.
Mosimanyane said Tebogo showed a lot of character.
“Normally the first races of the season help us to identify mistakes so that we rectify them and move forward,” he added.
The coach said all the mistakes would help Tebogo grow. ENDS
