Mamaloukous scoops position one in Khawa Challenge

Nineteen-year-old Gaborone born, Kosmas Mamaloukous scooped position one in the 100km Khawa Dune Motorbike Challenge.
In an interview with BOPA, Mamaloukous said that the race was enjoyable though challenging at the same time.
The Bokomo-sponsored rider said that the Khawa terrain was thrilling and had the potential to improve their riding performances.
The Khawa 2022 decorated rider mentioned that he started riding bikes as early as three years as it was a family oriented sport.
He further said to test the waters, he participated in the Motor cross national race in Cape town two weeks, ago, where he took position nine, the position that he appreciated though it challenged him to work hard.
Meanwhile, Champs Botswana-sponsored rider, Baleseng Buzwani (48) scooped position 2.
Besides the challenging terrain, he decried lack of sponsors in the motorsport.
He said the sport was expensive, hence less participation from the locals.
He, therefore, called for sponsors to support the growth of motorsport in the country.
Buzwani said motorsport had the potential to develop leisure industry as well as create job opportunities for the youth. Ends
