On form Township Rollers striker Terdius Uiseb header deep in the second half guided his team to an important 1-0 victory against hosts Police XI on Wednesday afternoon.
It was Uiseb’s second strike in two consecutive games following last week’s embarrassing 2-3 loss to bottom placed Prisons XI.
Popa’s Portuguese mentor Sergio Traguil recalled Jackson Lesole, Thabo Babutsi, Thabo Wetshoemang, Edwin Moalosi and Uiseb to the starting 11, owing to the absence of about eight key regular players to his first team due to injury.

Against Police XI on Wednesday Rollers had their noses in front as early as the second minute of the first half after some neat crosses from left back Onkarabile Ratanang, who was returning from suspension.
However, the home side sat back and enjoyed a lion’s share of possession with their lanky midfielder Letlhogonolo Senwelo controlling matters in the middle of the park.
Both teams failed to make any meaningful threat in front of a goal, owing to lack of composure in the final third. It was goalless at break.
The two teams pushed for an ice breaker and the hosts were first to make a threat with a well-timed Tapiwa Gadibolae header.
The resultant save from Rollers goal-minder Kabelo Maphakela Rollers winger Edwin Moalosi shaved the upright with a well-timed strike, which had clearly beaten Lesego Bosekeng in the Police last line of defence.
With 15 minutes on the clock, Uiseb’s header separated the two sides and Police pushed for a comeback until the last minute.
