Double Action Chiefs win

Double Action women and Mochudi Centre Chiefs men are this year’s Dreamers Annual Charity Tournament champions.
Double Action thrashed Mexican Girls 7-0, courtesy of Onatlametse Gaonyadiwe six goals and Boitumelo Gammu’s solo goal.
Double Action demonstrated that they were not log leaders by fluke as they taught the young Mexican Girls some football techniques.
Mexican defenders failed to deal with Lesego Radiakanyo and Gaonyadiwe who were the main destroyers.Mexican Girls coach, Oaitse Moeti, said in an interview despite losing with avalanche of goals, that he was happy that his youthful side managed to make some attacks although they did not utilise some scoring opportunities.
“Most of my players are in the national Under 20 camp and I had to give some youngsters a run.
Yes I did not budget for seven goals, but it’s part of the game and learning process,” he said.
Moeti said in their semi-final encounter against Police, the players managed to apply themselves and consequently, 3-2.
He said their loss could also be attributed to fatigue, given that they rested for only 30 minutes before playing the final while their opponents had ample time to recover.For his coach William Monene of Double
Action said he was happy that his players were on their element.
He said he was ued some players who were always on bench.
He mixed them with experience ,adding that the combination worked for his team.
‘In our semi-final game against Royal Fighters, we managed to beat them 7-1 and that was a clear indication that his club was not in any compromising mood to lose against youthful Mexican Girls.,’ he said.
Centre Chiefs had to dig deeper to be crowned champions as they played one-all draw against Mokatse Mountain Birds in regulation time.
Chiefs later won 8-7 during a penalty shoot-out.
Meanwhile, the tournament local organising committee chairperson, Moreetsi Kediseng, said the tournament was started last year and in this edition they found it prudent to include women’s football.
He said the main objective of the tournament was to give back to the community by helping the under privileged in the society.
Kediseng said he was happy that the tournament went well and all the teams were competitive, giving the spectators value for their money. ENDS
