Koolese wants to keep Miscellaneous ship afloat

03 Apr 2023

Miscellaneous’ ship is hitting rock-bottom and hopes of survival are dwindling.

However, Tse Nala coach, Otsile Koolese, believes he can still steer the ship to safety, despite its condition ticking many boxes that suggest it may go under a huge iceberg and never return unscathed.

Koolese carries an insurmountable baggage on his shoulders. But the coach believes and hopes his young soldiers will walk out of the war zone with pride of conquerors.

However, Koolese concedes that age and experience sometimes play a role against his boys.

Tse Nala are a relatively young side with the oldest player at 23 years while the youngest is 17.

“We will survive. Of course we are not doing well, I admit,” said Koolese in post-match interview at Samabaje ground after going down 1-2 to the now seemingly resurgent Peacemakers in Bobonong Saturday. With 13 points and sitting on the last spot, Tse Nala are left with five games to collect the invaluable 15 points to safety.

Teams on spot 12 to eight are yet to collect over 20 points. This gives Miscellaneous hope of playing a catchup game.

However, their lack of experience was evident when Peacemakers scored two quick goals from halftime break through Phetso Baakile and an own goal by Lesedi Kgannyeng.  The boys who seemed a better side in the first half were thrown into disarray until they eventually pulled one back through Ontsheletse Ntsanyana.

On one hand, Peacemakers, although they are not safely at shore, the team has been pulling together invaluable points to steer their side to the right course.

“We’re working on getting things right and it appears like it’s really coming together,” said Peacemakers coach Rebagamang Keimetswe.

Although things are seemingly panning right for Peacemakers who have fled the red zone to spot nine, coach Keimetswe said his side was in dire need of just three points in every game they played.

“It doesn’t matter how we get those points as long as we leave the pitch with maximum points into our cart and move up the log, it makes me happy,” the coach further said.

However, Keimetswe said it was difficult playing teams who were in the same predicament as them.

In other games Chadibe thumped Green Lovers 4-0, Motlakase walloped Rolling Guys 2-0, a top of the log clash between TAFIC and Highlanders ended in a 1 all draw, Mbalakalungu 0-1 Calendar Stars and Sankoyo 0-2 Santa Green. ENDS
