Eleven Angels shock Masitaoka
02 Mar 2023
Eleven Angels’s 3-2 victory over Masiataoka in Molepolole on Wednesday boosted the winners’ survival in the premier league.
The game started with Eleven Angels at position nine while Masitaoka were at position five.
Therefore, some football pundits expected Masitaoka to walk over Eleven Angels.
Eric Ookame scored an opener for the visitors in the ninth minute.
Fungai Muzila made it two before half time.
Masitaoka’s Ambrosius Amsed pulled one back in the second half while Monty Enosa scored the second one to equalise.
With both at two goals, the pressure was evident on the pitch and on the stands, but ladyluck was on the northerners as Ookame struck again to secure victory for Angels.
Masitaoka coach, Mandla Mpofu, said they did not play well in the first half, but was glad they did better in the second half even though they did not win.
“Going forth, we need a mindset to bring results home,” Mpofu added.
For his part, Eleven Angels’ coach, Seemo Mpatane, said he was happy with the results.
“I am glad we controlled the game from the start,” said Mpatane.
He said in their next game, they would make an effort to get maximum points again.
Masitaoka take on Sua Flamingos in Molepolole tomorrow while Eleven Angels host Gaborone United in Francistown same day. ENDs
