Battle for supremacy tomorrow
16 Feb 2023
The old adage ‘When the elephants fight, the grass gets trampled’ will come to play tomorrow morning when Double Action and Prison clash in a DTCB women’s football league game at Lekidi East Ground.
The last time the two giants met, they played to a one-all draw.
Prisons coach, Quelch Moroke, said in an interview that the game was not going to be simple, looking at the history of the two teams, but said his team was ready.
Moroke said they would take advantage of the fact that they know Double Action’s style of play.
Double Action coach, William Monene said last season they played Prison twice; winning 2-0 in their first game and playing to a one-all draw in the second.
He said the fact that they ended up winning the championship, with Prison as runners-up, was clear demonstration that the game would not be a walk in the park for both sides.
“Yes Prison have lost some of their instrumental players at the beginning of the season, but they have played two games and won one, and for them to score four against stubborn UB Kicks, is a clear indication that given a chance, they can score the whole day, and they are a threat to us,” he said.
In other games Gaborone United will have a date with Security Systems at Lekidi West.
In the afternoon Wonder Girls will play against UB Kicks at Lekidi East, while FC Ambassadors take on Township Rollers. The two games start at 4 pm. ENDS
