Untouchable humiliate Geronah in women division two clash
12 Feb 2023
Untouchable were in mean mood on Saturday as they hammered Geronah 4-1 in the women division two clash played at Lekidi East.
Untouchable goals were through an own goal, Lorato Botsile, Gobona Motlhatso and Lorato Lekgoa, while Kaone Mothomane scored for Geronah.
Though Geronah lost, they were a better side especially in the opening minutes of the game, but lack of composure was their main undoing. Geronah coach, Gaoletlhoo Nkutwisang, said her youthful players’ performance was encouraging.
She said the players showed signs of fatigue more especially in the second stanza, adding they were also let down by lack of an anchor in the middle field.
“Our mistakes cost us, giving Untouchable advantage over us, and at the same time we missed a lot of scoring opportunities, but it is something that we will correct at training,” she said.
Nkutwisang said she would continue to grill the players so that they could gel and fit well as a team, adding they were young players with need for some patience.
“My youngest player is 13 years and I introduced her in the 76th minutes and you saw the difference she did,” she said.
For his part, Untouchable coach Boni Mametse, said he was happy to have collected three points.
He said they managed to capitalise on Geronah’s weakness in the middle, adding that his team did not play according to their game plan.
“I wanted them to score more goals, who knows we might need them at the end of the season, but all is not lost because we managed to salvage three valuable points, so we are preparing for our next game against Vicomates,” he said.
In other games played on Saturday, Mazottie beat FC Legends 10-0, Genomai beat Police 2-1 while Big Sisters walloped Vicomates 6-1 . ENDS
