A fierce battle is expected tomorrow when star studded Gaborone United come face to face with Wonder Girls in a DTCB Women’s league clash at Lekidi Ground at 4 pm.

Gaborone United are expected to parade their new signees, amongst them, Keitumetse ‘Ben 10’ Dithebe, Annah Sechane and Goitsemang Tlamma.

On one hand, Wonder Girls have lost some of their key players, however they will depend on youngsters who are hungry for success.

Wonder Girls coach, Tapaphiwa Gaebolae, said in an interview that she was cognisant of the fact that they were the underdogs, but they were ready for the clash.

She said they had been preparing well.

Gaborone United, she said, must undermine Wonder Girls at their own peril because  ‘we have players capable of causing havoc to any defence’.

“To be honest, all the players are looking forward to the game and they are ready. We know it is not going to be easy but trust me, we are going to have a good game,” she said.

GU coach, Innocent Morapedi, said they had prepared well for the league, adding that Wonder Girls were unlucky to be their first opponent.

“To me Wonder Girls are a closed book, but remember it only takes some few minutes in the game to understand your opponents tactics,” he said.

Morapedi said they were not going to leave any stone unturned.

He said his charges would not settle for anything less as their main target was to start the league on a high note and collect maximum points.

“We have a mission and vision in our team that winning should be a habit, therefore we have to set a tone by beating Wonder Girls. However, I told my team not to undermine them, because they can be dangerous,” he said.

Morapedi said Wonder Girls were worthy opponents, but unfortunately they would be entering a lion’s den, adding that GU was going to be unapologetic.

Meanwhile, in other games; Prisons will take on UB Kicks at Lekidi East, FC Ambassadors will welcome Double Action at Lekidi West. The two games start at 9am.

Security Systems will face Township Rollers at Lekidi East at 4pm. ENDS
