OrangeBFA renew sponsorship deal

Orange Botswana has renewed its sponsorship deal with Botswana Football Association (BFA) for the FA Cup with P15.4 million for three years.
Speaking at the sponsorship launch in Gaborone yesterday, Orange Botswana, chief finance officer, Bishy Butale, said the renewal reaffirmed their dedication to fostering development, growth and promotion of the sport as well as uplifting communities.
“We intend to be futuristic with football. We will walk by your side as you negotiate the sun kissed terrain of our beautiful country combing through the dusty and hidden grounds from Ramatlabama to Ramokgwebana and from Kgatleng to Mamuno scouting the next Modiri Marumo, Mogogi Gabonamong or Dipsy Selolwane,” he said.
Butale noted that their last contract delivered 141 games and that the reach of the Orange FA Cup outlived the duration of the tournament.
He said there was always something for everyone in the FA Cup and that it offered life changing opportunities to lower league players.
He also said it left life-long memories for clubs and villages and triggered socio-economic activities.
BFA president, Maclean Letshwiti, thanked Orange Botswana for renewing the sponsorship, saying they viewed that as a vote of confidence in their development efforts.
“Thank you Orange for sticking with us for another three years. We are alive to the challenges you face as a business entity and the effects of COVID -19,” he said.
Letshwiti noted that football played a critical role in some lives because it employed people in different capacities such as administrators, coaches and doctors.
Still at the launch, a first leg draw was conducted for teams in the southern part of the country.
Matebejana will face VTM, Kang Royal Stallions vs Lokgwabe FC, Holly Ghost vs Mochudi Centre Chiefs, Ncojane FC vs UB Hawks, Black Rangers vs Mochudi United, Taung Young Strikers vs Black Forest, Matebele vs Tlokweng United and Broadhurst United vs Naughty Boys.
