VTM move to position five after a draw

VTM moved to position five of the Debswana First Division South league log after playing to a goalless draw against Mochudi Centre Chiefs on Wednesday.

Before the game, VTM occupied position six while Mochudi Centre Chiefs remained on position three.

The development gave hope to Kgatleng side coach, Daniel ‘Chicco’ Nare who said that despite not improving their log standing, the resilience displayed by his players would stay the course.

He was, however, disappointed that Chiefs settled for a draw despite enjoying home ground advantage.

“You see every game, we bring in new players. Against VTM, I had three from Mogoditshane Fighters, we are trying to build a team, that would be able to fight with the teams seating at the summit of the log,” he said.

Nare said their game plan was to win the game, adding although his side squandered all the scoring opportunities, the team managed to play as a unit, compared to their last encounter against Young Stars.

For his part, VTM coach, Nelson Olebile, said they played to a fair draw given that both teams did not have ‘glorious’ opportunities that one would had wished for when the game started.

He said in the first half, Chiefs wanted to build some passes, play on the side and send diagonal ball, a formation which he admitted was troubling his players in the first 15 minutes.

Olebile said as they game progressed they managed to settle, in the event controlling the game, having the grip on the ball, circulating it from the back, and playing in the midfield.

“Credit to my midfielders, they did very well, because they played according to our game plan,” he said.

In other games played on Wednesday in Jwaneng, Young Stars had a field day beating Broadhurst United 6-0 the five goals were netted by Stephen Sibanda, while Koketso Modisane score one. Ends
