Holy Ghost woes continue

Holy Ghost on Sunday suffered a 0-4 defeat to Orapa United at Molepolole Sport Complex.
The drubbing further worsened Holy Ghost’s woes in the Botswana Premier League.
A first half brace by Kelvin Bingala as well as strikes from Omantla Kebatho and Kagisano Mungu were enough to grant the high flying Orapa United maximum points, moving them to third position on the log, just five points behind league pacesetters, Gaborone United.
Newly promoted Holy Ghost are finding the going tough in the elite league as they are yet to taste victory. They are currently languishing at the bottom of the log with four points from 11 outings.
The Mmopane-based outfit have managed to pick two points in their last five games, a hard fought three all draw with Security Systems and a one-all draw with Nico United.
The Holy Boys, as Holy Ghost are affectionately called, would need a miracle if they were to survive relegation.
Speaking in a post-match interview, Holy Ghost gaffer, Botshelo Pelokgosi, expressed disappointment at the manner his team conceded the goals.
“We conceded very silly goals. My defence was always flat and gave too much respect to the opposition, hence conceding three goals in the first half,” he said, admitting that they needed to be more compact.
Pelokgosi admitted that the team needed to regroup and focus on their next encounter.
“It is back to the drawing board for us and we have to see how best we bounce back,” he added.
For his part, Orapa United head coach, Tawurayi Mangwiro, commended his charges for collecting maximum points, adding they needed to stay focused and not underestimate their opponents based on their current form.
Mangwiro highlighted that the game plan on the day was centered more on mental strength, bearing in mind the good form of his team, pinning it against their opponents’ recent struggles.
“The entire team played well and were quick to settle, hence the early goal in the 15th minute, which put us in control of the entire game. But I must admit, it was not all a walk in the park, our opponents brought the fight to us, particularly in the middle of the field,” he said.
Meanwhile, in another premier league game played on Sunday, Police XI crushed Eleven Angles 2-0. Ends
