Prisons show early signs of struggle

Prisons XI suffered a 1-3 drubbing at the hands of Security Systems in the season opening encounter at Lobatse Sports Complex on Sunday.
Prisons XI narrowly avoided relegation from the Botswana Premier League last season by finishing on position 13.
Their main problem was the defence, which let in 70 goals in 30 matches.
Those weaknesses were not addressed in the off-season transfer window as the Warders failed to bring in reinforcements.
Their defensive woes were on display again on Sunday as the Systems attackers did as they pleased.
Just five minutes into the match, Systems debutant Odirile Lekoba easily clipped the ball over Prisons goalkeeper Tshepo Mooketsi after finding a lot of space behind the backline of Tabona Ntlogelang, new signing Olebogeng Leshona, Tshwanelo Mojanaga and Kebatshabile Monthe.
Systems doubled their lead three minutes later after more questionable marking at the back. Exciting winger Bokang Rathipana dribbled past Monthe and squared for unmarked young midfielder Tawana Mbakile, who easily guided the ball past Mooketsi from close range.
The Alarm Boys created numerous chances and midfielder Walter Sande hit a powerful shot over the posts. Quinton was denied by the cross bar from a well taken free-kick that had beaten Mooketsi hands down.
Prisons XI tried to fight back with their attackers Karabo Setoutwe and Tumo Keiketlile causing some anxious moments for the Systems defence. However, they were let down by more sloppy defending, which saw Rathipana finding plenty of space again from the right flank and slotting past the exposed Mooketsi in the 28th minute.
Prisons XI performance showed improvement in the second half as they managed to pull one goal back through Mokuye Shakambayo in the 53rd minute after he combined well with Keiketlile to unlock the Systems rear-guard.
They had a chance to score a second one after being awarded a penalty following a foul by Mokoka in the 60th minute.
However, Systems goalkeeper Kabelo Kuti saved the weakly taken spot-kick by Keiketlile. After that good fortune, Systems wrestled back control of the match but failed to add to the scoreline.
Prisons XI will have a chance to redeem themselves in their next match against Morupule Wanderers on Saturday, while Systems will take on Masitaoka on Sunday. Ends
