Eleven Angels lose to Morupule

Francistown-based outfit, Eleven Angels lost 1-0 to Morupule Wanderers FC in a premier league encounter played at Obed Itani Chilume Stadium in Francistown on Saturday.

Agripa Morumba’s early goal in the first 15 minutes of the first segment of the game sealed everything for Morupule, who have been in the elite league since 2018 and displayed experience on the ball the new entrants.

Although Eleven Angels lost, they played professional football with most of their supporters indicating that the boys would improve with time.

Morumba played professional football and was the toast of the day, certainly the reason why Coach, Chiko Dance Nare did not make any substitute against him.

The two teams went to recess with Morupule leading the score board and when they returned, Eleven Angels pulled all strings, creating chances, but failing to net the ball.

Referee, Joseph Toti Toi had to work overtime to cool down both sides, who seemed to have been failing to hold their ‘horses’ due to pressure.

Though the game seemed intense, Morupule continued to dominate the second half, but received a rain of cards.

Enerst Ngwaga was awarded a red card following a rough play against an Eleven Angels player leaving the team with only 10 players on the ground.

Morupule Wanderers sailed through despite having a shortage of players with goal keeper Michael Peputane discharging his duties by denying a single attempt score by his opponents.

The team performed well throughout the second segment until the final whistle, which left Eleven Angels Coach, Seemo Mpatane lost for words.

However, he said the game was clean and would prove that their promotion to the elite league was not by fluke. “The boys played well, it is only because we are still new to the elite league, but as time goes on we will correct our flaws,” he added.

Both Mpatane and Nare were of the view that the pre-season took a bit too long, hence it seemed the love for the world sport deteriorated

Nare complained that the referee was not ruling against the mistakes committed by the opponent.

Eleven Angels was promoted to the elite league after walloping Mochudi Centre Chiefs with aggregate  5-0 at last year’s play-off games in Mochudi. Ends
